Rock-bottom prices Sep–Oct — but the rain is real
Da Nang's cheapest stretch is September through October — the typhoon and wet-season window. Beach resort rates in Bãi Biển Mỹ Khê drop 40–50% from peak Feb–May. Domestic flights from Hanoi and HCMC halve. The catch is the actual weather: October hits over 600mm rainfall, with multi-day storm events.
For most travelers the smart play is finding the windows where prices are still meaningfully off-peak but the weather works.
The two smartest price-to-weather windows
- Late August — last reliably workable beach weather before the September storm window. Prices already softening from June–July peak. Comfortable temperatures (28–30°C), occasional afternoon showers but mostly dry. The smart late-summer call.
- Early March — dry season established, peak Feb prices already coming down before the April–May busy stretch. Beach water warming. Bà Nà Hills and Marble Mountains at peak conditions.
What "cheap" actually looks like in Da Nang
- Beachfront 4-star Mỹ Khê — Mar $120–180, Sep $60–100 (~45% off)
- Mid-range hotel central Da Nang — Mar $40–70, Sep $25–45 (~40% off)
- Domestic flight Hanoi → Da Nang — Mar $30–55, Sep $18–30 (~45% off)
- Street food meal (bún chả, mì Quảng) — $1.50–3 (no real seasonality)
- Sit-down restaurant beachfront — $8–18 per person
- Bà Nà Hills cable car + Sun World — $32 (no seasonality)
